Originally, she wanted her photographs taken during the Cherry Blossom festival in Washington, DC. Unfortunately for the both of us, tourist season was a bit out of control and our scheduled engagement simply wasn’t going to fall into place. We had no other choice but to reschedule. With the cherry blossoms coming into bloom a little earlier than usual, we bit the bullet and moved our shoot to a second cherry blossom location in Bethesda. A community called Kenwood. But by the time we got there, the blossoms had run their course.

But, the shoot was far from awash. The photographs that emerged were beautiful, and in the end didn’t need the help of the cherry blossoms.

These photos were shot between 9:00 and 10:00am utilizing entirely natural light.
