These sisters were a breeze to photograph. One adorable facial expression after the other. We met the sister’s and their mother at Brookside Gardens in Wheaton, Maryland for the portrait session. From there, we pretty much let the girls lead the way. The younger sister, was only just old enough to really be responsive, but the the older sister was an explorer… and a rock star… and a diva. Like few other children I’ve photographed, this little girl loved the camera and loved being in front of it even more. Needless to say, we had a great time!

These photographs were captured in the morning time around 9:30am at Brookside Gardens in Wheaton, Maryland. We utilized entirely natural light.

The Zebals are a get-to-the-point couple. They weren’t interested in a lot of the traditional wedding *stuff*. There was no bouquet toss, no garter, there was barely even dancing. But that’s the way they liked it and everyone had a great time—including myself. It’s proof that you don’t need all the traditions create a fun, memorable day.

The Linders were married at the historic 1840’s Carrollton Inn. The reception was held in the 1840’s ballroom, which shares a courtyard with the Inn. The ceremony, as well as our formal photographs took place in the courtyard.

Catherine & Brian were married the afternoon of Friday, May 1st 2009. I have to say that I had a really great time at this wedding. Catherine and Brian were committed to having a good time at their party and it was contagious. Rob Followell with Allstar Entertainment handled all the music and did an excellent job. The music was lots of fun and the dance floor was almost always occupied.

During the ceremony, which took place outside on a large boardwalk style dock, I had an unexpected run-in with a huge snake. Of course, it was nowhere near the guests. It’s just what I get for trying to find new and creative angles to photograph the ceremony. If you care to read about it, I wrote the whole story on my personal blog.

Anyways, back on track. Catherine & Brian weren’t too interested in traditional wedding pictures. (Of course, for the sake of family, we took them anyway). They were more excited about getting creative and using the setting to do something fun and memorable. So, that’s what we did.

Catherine & Brian were married at Silver Swan Bayside, on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. It’s a small venue, but the catering is delicious. The staff is extremely friendly—even to the vendors (which believe it or not isn’t always true)—and the view is gorgeous. It was a wonderful location to hold a wedding—one that I would definitely recommend.

As with any wedding planned for outside, there was always the risk of uncooperative weather. That Friday morning, it was raining on and off. In fact, it was still raining when I pulled up with my assistant. But, literally just in the knick of time, the clouds parted and made for one of the most beautiful skies anyone could ask for on their wedding day.

So, congratulations Catherine & Brian! Kudos on throwing a great party and a beautiful celebration. I truly wish you many years of happiness and excitement as you move foreword in life together!
