Where would we be today if it were not for our nation’s service members putting their lives on the line? Our service members are the patriots who voluntarily put their lives on the line to protect American lives. As all Americans—we owe these people a great debt of gratitude. My own mother was a Navy officer, and though by the time I came along, it was not a central fixture in our day to day lives and she did not directly see any combat, the value of her time there left a mark on me, and on our family, I think, for the better.
As another, seemingly unrelated matter of principle, we also believe entrepreneurialism is one of our nation’s, and our people’s, greatest strengths. So we always try our best, at least in spirit, to support anyone launching out on their own to start something new, to build an income for themselves, to support their hopes and ambitions. We believe new businesses are good for personal well being, as well as the national good.
Now, there is this intersection of these two groups of people, and these two ideals, where we think we can offer our support and expertise in more than just “spirit” and “gratitude”. That is, when our veteran service members launch out to begin a new businesses on their own for the first time. Veteran run businesses are an opportunity for service members to parlay their experience into a direct support of their own goals and personal missions. They bring that otherwise unobtainable experience to the private industry where they help energize the economy and employ countless other people.
Unfortunately, veteran run businesses are not a great deal more likely to succeed than anyone else’s—and there is a great deal of failure in new businesses in general. That’s just how the cookie crumbles. But, we think we can give our veterans a little leg up in this way.
So, beginning today and running indefinitely, we are offering free headshot sessions to veterans who are launching their first business. These sessions are available to veterans who were honorably discharged from any branch of the military within the last 5 years, and who are launching their first business. The veteran must be the owner, or CEO, of the business, but the other two people need not have any current or past military affiliation.
If you can answer “yes” to all of these questions, you are eligible to schedule a headshot session with one of our talented and skilled photographers, absolutely free!
- I was honorably discharged from the military within the last 5 years.
- I have never started a business before, and am doing so for the first time.
- My business is not directly or indirectly affiliated with any political party, campaign, charity or superPAC.
Entrepreneurial Veteran Sessions will typically be held outdoors and within a few miles of Annapolis, Greenbelt, Bowie, Crofton, Gambrills, Odenton and Millersville. If you qualify for this offer, and would like to take advantage of it for your new business, get in touch with us today by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Before scheduling, you will be required to provide proof of your honorable discharge, and a basic overview of the business you are starting. Sessions will typically last about one hour, and will include one high resolution, royalty-free image for you to use for your business and across social media.
We look foreword to working with our service members to save them time and energy during these first critical steps toward launching their first business. If you are a veteran and have questions yourself, or you have questions on behalf of one of our service members that you think might benefit from this, please don’t hesitate to reach out and ask.
