Three Ways to Get Headshots of the Whole Team

As a business owner myself, I know how tricky it can be to get everyone in the same place at the same time. And, as a photographer I know how critical it is to have excellent images of your team. Potential clients and colleagues need to see you as professional and approachable, and your images should—nay, must—help communicate that.  If you’re just scraping together images that your team provides, using old photos, or snapping pics with your smartphone, you’re sending the wrong impression.

The good news is that getting team photos doesn’t necessarily have to be a headache. Lets take a quick look at three ways businesses take care of their headshot needs, without hours and hours and hours of planning.

During a company function

The easiest way to capture all of the images you need is to schedule a session for the same time you’re planning a team meeting—or any other time ‘all hands are on deck’. This may be your only option for creating consistent cohesive images of everyone if your team is spread out around the country. A  session like this can be scheduled to happen concurrently with your team meeting, if it is okay for team members to miss 8-12 minutes at a time. However, the session can also be scheduled for before or after the meeting, while everyone else is socializing.

Group Headshots scheduled before, after or during a team meeting are typically created under studio lights in a room adjacent to your meeting. However, more modern, outdoor headshots can also be created if the area surrounding your meeting venue has appropriate light, colors and textures. If you’re unsure about this, just get in touch with us and we’ll be happy to help you figure it out.

Distributing Headshot Vouchers

The most flexible method for arranging headshots for your whole team is to use something called “Headshot Vouchers”. When you schedule using Headshot Vouchers, you’ll enjoy the benefit of bulk cost savings, and the flexibility of allowing each team member to arrange their headshot session on their own schedule. And, your team members will enjoy a more personal, private experience during their session. Headshot vouchers are available for teams of almost any size, and depending on the number of people, the cost can be as low as $160 per person.

Headshot vouchers are available for teams of at least 2 people, and require a consistent location be selected for all team members, though this location is extremely flexible. Once you have the headshot vouchers, your team members can call to schedule a time that is convenient for them, or if you supply us with an email list, we will work to help ensure that each team member gets scheduled in a timely manner.

On Special Arrangement

The most complicated method for capturing headshots of your whole team is to do so with a special arrangement. This would entail scheduling everyone to arrive at a specific location, at a specific time. You can make this process simpler by using a service such as Doodle to find the best time for everyone. Sessions with special arrangements offer greater flexibility in the timing, location and style of your headshots—wherever everyone can be at the same time may be suitable.

Sessions on special arrangement may cost as little as about $40 per person, depending on how large the group is.

In Conclusion

Creating new headshots for your team doesn’t have to be a major headache—-you just have to decide what arrangement is best for your team. We’d love to help you figure this out.
