Courtney and Horatio are one of those couples who’s affection for one another is palpable. We met at the Kennedy Center on a beautiful evening just as the sun was starting to set. The light was perfect for some stunning portraits. Courtney looked gorgeous in her flowing blue dress with her baby bump on full display. Horatio was beaming with pride and joy.
We walked around the grounds and found some lovely spots for photos. The couple was so natural and easy to photograph. They were clearly head over heels in love with each other and so excited to become parents.
The Kennedy Center is an excellent spot for this sort of thing. Although it’s not as good for the sort of off-the-cuff family portraits we’re often hired for, throw on some formal wear and, boom. The large, smooth, stone surfaces lend themselves beautifully to the sort understated elegance we were looking for here. It also just so happens that the natural lighting is just gorgeous in the evenings.
