Isa & Andy’s Extended Family Portrait Session at Kinder Farm Park

It was another family portrait session for Isa & Andy and their extended family, and this time we headed out to Kinder Farm Park in rural Millersville. This park has a long history, dating back over 200 years, and has served as a working farm for much of that time. It also serves as an educational destination, with live farm installations for visitors to learn from.

Upon arriving, we were greeted by the park’s large barns and sweeping rural views. The active livestock also provided a great opportunity for the kids to take a look and learn. There is a $6 per car admission fee to enter the park, but parking was a breeze. The location is quite large and can involve a lot of walking to get around but the views and atmosphere are worth it.

In previous sessions, Isa & Andy’s twin daughters have been a bit camera shy, but this time, with another year under their belt, they were much more excited to be involved and have their picture taken. Their older daughter was also a natural in front of the camera, too, and she was so great with all the kids.

Andy’s mother was a bit hesitant to join us because of all the walking involved, but a quick car ride from the parking lot to the area where we were shooting convinced her to come along. I’m glad she did because we were able to capture some really nice photos with her.

We started the session around the visitors center before moving down into the park area. The sun was setting, which gave us some really dramatic shots that turned out great. We spent some time with each individual family group, as well as a few different arrangements of the whole extended family together.

To finish things off, we headed down to the livestock area and the twin daughters were completely captivated by the goats making hilarious noises. It was a great way to end a fun and successful family portrait session.
