FAMILY PORTRAITURE

Serving Maryland, DC & Virginia with Creative & Heartfelt Family Photography since 2007. Classic Sessions from $475. Express Sessions from $175.

William delivered outstanding photographs, worked wonders with my fussy infant during the shoot, and was always very responsive to emails. After doing an amazing job with my best friend’s wedding we hired him for a reasonably priced multi family shoot. William’s outgoing personality made the shoot very comfortable from the start, which is oftentimes a challenge with photographers. We will absolutely hire him again in the future!

Working with William was absolutely amazing! He brought such great, creative ideas to the table, but was also open to any thoughts or ideas I might have (not always the case with other photographers I’ve used in the past.) With William’s help we were able to capture the perfect fall family photos I was dreaming of. I’d give him 10 stars if I could!

Fabulous. After talking to many photographers in the area, I decided on Petruzzo Photography because William was so easy to talk to and he knew what I was looking for. I booked with Felipe and he did an outstanding job. Felipe is very talented. I have so many beautiful photos of my family and have received so many compliments. I have two toddlers and Felipe was great with them!!!

Ready to learn more?

We will never share your information with anyone, and we’ll never spam you. Lets start a conversation!

Where will the session take place?

Family Portrait Sessions always take place on-location. Depending on what style of images you like, we may shoot in your home, in a local park, a museum, or a downtown area. Any location that appeals to you, and we are legally allowed to photograph in, is a possible candidate.

How long before the images are finished?

Standard turn around time for family portraits is around 2-3 weeks, but not guaranteed. If the images need extra time to look their best, we'll give it to them, but will always do our best to keep you in the loop. Rush delivery is available at an additional cost.

How many people can we include in the session?

Our family portrait package includes up to 12 people, and one pet. We can always include additional people with an extra fee.

How far will you travel?

Travel to locations within 35 miles of the 21054 zip code is included with your session. Travel beyond that will cost a little extra.

How long do sessions usually last?

Family sessions may last up to an hour and a half. When deemed appropriate by your photographer, they may last longer than that, and under some circumstances may be finished more quickly.

Are there any other fees I should expect?

Our packages are all-inclusive, but do not include tax. If you wish to schedule a session outside of our normal service area you will be required to pay for travel. You may also be required to pay for prints, advanced retouching, parking and event or location admissions during the session.

Will you photoshop the images?

Depending on the context of the image, we will remove some non-permanent blemishes and may slightly soften skin where it looks unnaturally rough. On portraits, we generally do not perform major cosmetic adjustments.

What if someone gets sick, there is bad weather, or an emergency?

We make every effort to accommodate changes in schedule, bearing in mind we can only reserve one date at a time per booking, so schedules will be based on current availability at the time of rescheduling.

Are you good with kids?

You bet! All of our members who shoot child portraits either have lots of kids in their lives, or have chidren of their own. We believe it’s important to let children take the lead, and we base our sessions around playful interactions as much as possible.

What ages are considered children?

As far as portrait sessions are concerned, children are people from the ages of 3 to 15 years old. Ages younger than that are considered babies, and ages older than that are considered adults

Can I split a family portrait session with a friend?

Sure, as long as the group totals fewer than 12 people, it's a great way to spend time with people you care about, and save a little money in the process. It should be noted, however, that we cannot segment the session for each family. The whole group must be present for the session at the same time.

How should we dress for the session?

We recommend choosing comfortable clothing that makes you feel good, and beyond that, it only depends on the formality of your session. When it comes to color coordination, we recommend choosing from a pallet of colors, rather than strictly “matching” colors. For example, shades of blue and green, rather than everyone wearing blue jeans with a green shirt.

Can we use multiple outfits?

You can, but it isn’t recommended in most cases. We are also unable to guarantee there will be a suitably private place to change clothes.
