What do you photograph?
We primarily photograph weddings and portraits. We are also available for editorial content, photo journalism, commercial real-estate and commercial product photography.
Do you shoot gay and lesbian weddings and portrait sessions?
Yes. Our job is to create beautiful images that reflect our customer's love for one another, not to judge people based on who they've fallen in love with.
Is there anything you are unwilling to photograph?
We will not shoot pornography. We also will not shoot images which have the intent of sexual arousal. Artistic nudity, in good taste, is okay. We always reserve the right to refuse any shoot we deem objectionable.
How long do you keep copies of the images after you've given them to me?
The images from your shoot will be kept indefinitely. After about 60 days, they will be archived and will no longer available for quick access. Should you need us to retrieve them for you, that can be arranged for a small processing fee.
Do you keep backups?
Yes! Multiple local backups are made several times a day. Additionally, at regular intervals a backup is performed, then detached from all computer systems and kept in anti-static, temperature controlled storage.
How far in advance should we book our session?
How much notice you need to give us varies a great deal by the season. For portrait sessions, typically 6 weeks is plenty of time. During holiday seasons, you may want to allow more time. For weddings, you should consider booking 12-18 months in advance.
What do I need to know about the 'Portrait Agreement'?
The portrait agreement is a standard document with the primary function of making sure we're all on the same page about your booking. It will detail costs, days and times, and when possible, the location as well. This document is signed digitally using a service called "EchoSign", in other words, there will be nothing to fax or mail. This document takes only a few minutes to complete, so we request that you follow the steps and finish the signing process right away. However, if you cannot respond immediately, you will have 48 hours to do so. If after 48 hours, the document is still incomplete, the booking will be automatically cancelled.
What if I need my photos right away?
It typically takes about 10 days for your images to get through the processing queue, although this isn't a guarantee; they're often completed sooner, and during busy seasons, sometimes more slowly. However, if you need your photos right away, priority processing is available for an additional fee.

What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept VISA, MasterCard, checks and cash. Some credit card payments will require a 2% processing fee. Checks should be made out to Petruzzo Photography.
Is there a deposit?
Weddings require a 50% deposit at the time of signing, unless special arrangements have been made. The session fee associated with portraits is due at the time of scheduling.
Are there any refunds?
The fees associated with wedding and portrait sessions are non-refundable. However, should you be dissatisfied with a print order for some reason, please contact us so that we may correct it as soon as possible.
Do you offer any kind of payment plan?
For wedding and event photography, the deposit is collected at the time of scheduling and the remainder no less than 10 days prior to the wedding date. For portraiture, there is currently no payment plan option.
Questions About the Shoot
Who will be capturing my photos?
In many cases, I (William Petruzzo) will be capturing your images. However, we are a team of photographers. Once you have scheduled your session, a photographer will be assigned to you and you will be notified. This is never a reason for concern. We have a very cohesive style which has consistently been praised by clients, regardless of the photographer shooting.
Where will the pictures be taken?
Your photographs will be taken in a mutually agreed upon location. Check out our article on choosing a good location for yourself, as well as some of the locations we visit frequently here.
Can I get a second photographer?
Definitely. If your event or shoot is large enough or complicated enough, we will contact other photographers to help keep the stress off you. However, if you would like to hire another photographer independent from us, it’s important that you discuss that with us first. In some situations independent photographers can interfere with each other. That would jeopardize the quality of your photographs.
Do you need to know who, or how many people, will be in the pictures?
Yes. If you’re looking for portraits, knowing the number of people being photographed will help us to more accurately estimate how long the shoot will take and what kind of equipment will be needed. If it’s for an event, having an idea of how many people will be there is also very helpful. It enables us to come prepared so you get the best pictures possible.
Do you do video or audio work?
At this time, we do not. However, we would be happy to refer you to skilled professionals in both areas.
How far will you travel?
We will go as far as you need us to go. All travel within 35 miles of the zip code 21054 is included, and calculated based on the actual driving distance reported by Google Maps. It's also important to remember that the 'shortest distance' will sometimes attempt to route through a city, in this case, an alternate route around the city will be used. For destinations beyond that, there is a travel charge of $24, or $1.29 per mile, whichever is greater.
What happens if there is bad weather on the day of my shoot?
While we prefer never to reschedule, in many cases involving bad weather, it is the best solution. We will discuss the options as the date of your shoot approaches. We do not maintain a list of indoor location and will not make specific recommendations. Should the weather report indicate a 50% chance of rain or higher, we will almost always recommend not attempting to shoot outside.
What should I wear to the shoot?

Questions About the Photographs
Do I get to keep my 'negatives'?
The term 'negatives' in digital photography refers to the full-resolution, unedited camera image file. We do not provide these, nor do you likely have any kind of need for them. However, we do offer high-resolution Digital Print Files. These are files which have been polished to look their best, and can be printed on your own for personal use. For prints larger than about 8x10", we recommend making your purchase through us for the best quality.
How will you deliver my photographs?
For portrait sessions, prints will be delivered by mail and digital files may be downloaded in an online package. For weddings, images will be delivered on a USB thumb drive, as well as an Apple iPad, if your selected package includes it.
How long before I will see my photographs?
Photographs from portrait sessions are typically available for proofing within 10 days. Photographs from weddings may take up to two months.
Do you provide proofs?
Yes. Your photographs will be available for proofing on our website in a password protected gallery.
I'm having trouble downloading my Image Pack, what should I do?
Can facial belmishes be removed?
Yes! This kind of adjustment will cost between $1 and $15, depending on how much work is required.
Can I use the images from my shoot for business purposes?
Yes! However, the images on the web must include our watermark, and images in print must give us specific credit along with the URL to our website. if you would like to display your images on the web without the watermark or specific credit, you will have the option to pay the commercial release fee of $120, for each hour of photography.
What happens to the photos you don't deliver?
We may not deliver all the images that are taken during a session. There are a number of reasons we may not deliver an image. For example we may have taken too many similar images, in which case we will select only the best and deliver only those. About 60 days after session takes place, images that were not delivered will be deleted permanently. Images that were delivered will be stored indefinitely.
My hard drive failed and I no longer have my images. Can you send them to me again?
Yes! All of the images that we deliver will be stored indefinitely. Typically, after about 60 days your images will be archived and there will be a small processing fee for retrieval and delivery. Always be sure to backup your photos!
Questions About Weddings
What additional fees should I expect to pay?
The price listed on your contract will represent the entire sum you're required to pay. There are some circumstances that may require an additional fee, such as travel outside of our service area, additional albums and prints, special retouching services or additional hours on the day of your event.
Is there a deposit?
Yes, for event photography with a total of at least $1500, 50% will be collected up front. The remaining 50% will be collected 10 days prior to your event.
How will my images be delivered?
Images from Weddings and Events lasting longer than 4 hours will be delivered on a USB thumb drive. Weddings and Events lasting 4 hours or less will receive their images in a digital download.
Can wedding packages be customized?
The simplest answer is, sometimes. We are willing to work with you, so please don't hesitate to ask.
Can I skip the engagement session to save money on the package price?
No. The portrait session included with all wedding packages is intended to give you and your photographer a chance to spend time with each other before your wedding day. It is optional, however, skipping it will not reduce the cost of the package.
How many weddings do you shoot a day?
One. At this time, we do not book more than one wedding per day.
