About  The Elkridge Furnace Inn

Nestled in the heart of Elkridge, Maryland, is the Elkridge Furnace Inn, a historic mansion dating back to 1744 that served as a tavern after its survey. The Inn, now listed on the National Register of Historic Places, boasts of the 19th-century Federal/Greek Revival manor house and Inn, which overlooks the Patapsco River. Although the historic ironworks that used to operate on the site is now a thing of the past, the Elkridge Furnace Inn remains a popular, upscale, farm-to-table restaurant and historic venue, easily accessible from major routes and minutes from Baltimore.

The restaurant is chef-owned, and they use organic practices on the property, locally sourcing ingredients and using time-honored cooking methods to create memorable culinary creations. Guests can enjoy hands-on cooking experiences, literary theater teas, and Chef Dan-hosted wine dinners in a diverse range of events hosted by the Inn. The gardens are fully organic, and all vegetables are of an heirloom variety. The Inn works with several local farms located within ten miles to source the finest ingredients for their seasonal approach to fine dining. This approach is influenced by Chef Dan’s experience, the organic gardens, wild edibles, and local farmers.

The Elkridge Furnace Inn is renowned for its dedication to hospitality, scenic views, locally sourced and grown ingredients, and outstanding culinary creations. Over the last thirty years, the Inn has dedicated itself to next-level hospitality, culinary excellence, detailed event management, and creating locally sourced farm-to-table menus. The Inn has expanded over the years, adding the Garden House for intimate celebrations from the house they lived in for twelve years. The Inn’s redecorating over the last year and a half includes carefully chosen artwork and a new landscape created for them by Joann Weiss. To appeal to all guests, the Inn offers seasonal menus and themed in-house special events.

The Elkridge Furnace Inn is an ideal location for portraits with its natural, historic feeling, and intimate ambiance. The space is great for portraits with smaller groups of people, generally fewer than six, and provides a beautiful backdrop to capture stunning images. However, some areas around the venue may not be available at all times, especially during events. Therefore, it’s best to reach out to the venue beforehand to ensure the space will be available. Although a permit is not generally required to take pictures around the venue, it’s best to obtain permission ahead of time as usage is at the venue’s discretion.
